Waddington Redwood Academy School Council
“The VOICE of the children”
The school council plays an important role in the life of Waddington Redwood Primary Academy . The council is made up of a boy and girl from each class, from Year 1 through to Year 6. The councillors are all democratically elected during the School Council elections This year’s election was exciting and the newly appointed council have elected a chair, vice chair, treasurer and secretary. Each councillor is elected to represent the children in their class at the council meetings. The council meets with Mrs McGeachie every Monday lunchtime.
The school council are planning to recreate the winning garden design from last year’s competition and in the spring will be contacting local businesses for support. school. They have designed and organized their display board in school and a great number of them supported the School Council stall at the Christmas fair. On the stall customers were able to decorate biscuits, guess how many sweets were in a jar and find sweets under cups. The money the school council raised will be spent on playground improvements which is something the Council feel very passionate about.
