At Waddington Redwood Primary Academy the health, safety and well-being of every child is our top priority. We expect all staff, governors and volunteers to share this commitment to safeguarding our children.
We listen to our children and take seriously what they tell us. All school staff are trained in Child Protection, and children are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns. Staff are trained to look out for signs of physical/emotional harm or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
The procedures which we follow are set out in The Priory Federation of Academies’ Safeguarding and Child Protection (Promoting the Welfare of Students and Vulnerable Adults) Policy.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs Fiona Kent (Head Teacher).
The Designated Safeguarding Officers (DSOs) are Mrs Clare McGeachie (SENDCo), Mrs Sian Milling (Assistant Head Teacher) and Mrs Pearl Green (Lead Behaviour and Pupil Support Officer).
The Designated Person for Looked After Children (LAC) is Mrs Clare McGeachie and the Pupil Premium Champion is Mrs Fiona Kent.
The Safeguarding and Child Protection (Promoting the Welfare of Students and Vulnerable Adults) Policy is available here (hyperlink to policy).
